Ollie and His Superpowers

A method designed specifically with children and young people in mind, Ollie and His Superpowers is a set of tools and methods to help youngsters navigate the difficult world of emotions and how their mind works.

Most importantly the Ollie model helps youngsters to adjust and evolve their thoughts, thinking and behaviours without ever telling them or labelling them as ‘wrong’ or ‘bad’ or any other words and language that adults often use without even thinking. Sometimes such words can have a detrimental effect on the well-being of that youngster who doesn’t have the capacity or skills to interpret and filter what exactly is going on.

Learning and using the Ollie Model is often very empowering for young and old alike and can make a world of difference in developing emotional intelligence, resilience and skills for life.

Most children of a certain age will be able to point to where their brain is or their heart, but where are their emotions? In the adult world youngsters are often asked to control their emotions or change them in some way, and we as adults often label emotions for youngsters without giving them the tools to help themselves. This is where The Ollie Model comes in by helping youngsters to help themselves using their emotional superpowers.

Working with individuals

Like all techniques used, the youngster is at the centre of the approach, we don’t label, we don’t assume, we enter into the youngster’s world in order to help them make better sense of it.

The Ollie Model can be used in many different ways to help youngsters with emotional or behavioural challenges. Children learn quickly and the Ollie Model is a low intensity approach to change which many youngsters find fun and easy to understand.

Working with families & Groups

The Ollie Model can also be easily applied to working with families or groups whether in schools, other organisations or the home. Ollie is as easy for adults to understand as it is for children and learning the Ollie Model of communication and understanding more about how children perceive and cope with emotions can be as empowering for adults as it is for children.
